| Online Surveys - Are they worth it? |

Online Surveys are a great way to make money working from home.... or are they? * marked are sights that I have found to be the best and easiest to navigate, and ones that I've found are widely advertised with many people on chat forums vouching for them as well I also found this site relatively helpful http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=448432, it's basically a chat which asks "do people really get paid for doing online surveys?" I've found the overall consensus for these paid surveys is simple, the more you sign up to the more surveys you will be offered and therefore, the more money you can make. It also depends, of course, on much time you have to dedicate to filling in surveys and, something I wasn't aware of until digging around is, unless you fit a particular demographic, geographic and current earnings you may not get many surveys at all. Basically it depends on what the marketing companies are researching and who they're aiming it at. I read that the surveys are apparently going to professionals who are in a particular demographic, earning a particular income. The best way to get the most out of the surveys is to fill in the mini polls on each survey site and fill in the background info eg. who you are, what you spend you money/time on, what kind of technology you use, whether or not you are the descision maker of the household etc. Filling these in greatly increase your chance of being sent invitations to complete complete surveys based on how relevant your information is to their current market research. If you're worried about scams I recommend doing your own research into companies that offer surveys, there were some that people said were good but I didn't feel they were right for me or you may not fit into the geographic of the market research they're doing, so signing up to them would be a waste of time. For example I found plenty of sites that were advertised or vouched for everywhere but weren't relevant to me because I'm outside of the United States. Also, you can check with the Better Business Bureau, www.bbb.org they have alot of good information on companies that have been reported as scams...however I wasn't quite sure how to use the website properly. But I did notice many of the legitimate sites had the BBB logo on them, so that could be a good indication of how good they are. I also noticed many sites claim to pay the surveyer up to $75 per survey, this seems to be very far fetched and it may only be for surveys taken by people who are professionals in their field eg. IT. I've found most peopl seem to think the average you can earn per survey is between $3 and $10...not enough to make a full wage which is what alot of sites claim and definately not enough to retire on as many claim aswell! Another thing I've noticed is that it apparently you will only start to get surveys after about a month of being signed up, this is why it helps to keep all your info updated and to keep logging on to their sites to do profile surveys and mini polls. This keeps your info updated and therefore they can see you're dedicated to doing the surveys and will continue to look for ones that suit who you are. It also helps to be an affiliate to these websites, haven't had a chance to go into this yet but that's apparently where the bigger money is. www.freepaidsurveys.net is one of the best sites for links to survey companies for people who live in the USA/CAN/UK and stay away from www.expresspaidsurveys.com, this one is possibly the biggest scam site I've seen so far. It doesn't tell you anything about paying for the service until you sign up and create a user name, give them your details etc...it then says "one last step" just pay us $34.95 and we'll give you our list of survey companies. All the legitimate online paid survey companies WILL NOT ask for any kind of payment, ever...and all the survey sites that are listed on the "paid membership" sites can be found FREE if your willing to look around and do your research.
